2025 Auditions
Thank you for your interest in joining Atlanta Quest. Prospective members will need to complete the audition process in order to obtain a contract to perform in either Atlanta Quest or Q2 for 2025. We strongly encourage attendance at both Audition #1 and Audition #2. Please contact us if you are unable to attend both audition dates.
New to the 2025 audition process will be separate dates for AQ callbacks and Q2 callbacks. Free auditions packets are available for download at any time.

AUDITION FAQs
If your questions aren’t answered below or on our General FAQ page here, hit us up at AtlantaQuestStaff@gmail.com or on our Contact Us page.
-
Contact a staff member through Facebook or email and explain the situation to us. Please contact us immediately if you aren’t able to attend both audition #1 and #2. Once contacted, we’ll send video protocols. You will be required to confirm registration for auditions before receiving video protocols.

Plan to bring your sticks/mallets, proper marching attire, lunch or money for lunch on your own, equipment if you can (drum, cymbals) and a mask if you feel more comfortable with one. If you are trying out for the keyboard section, we will have mallets for you to use but encourage you to bring your own. If you are trying out for snare, tenor and/or bass, you should bring your own drumsticks. If you have your own drum and stand, please feel free to bring it. If you are trying out for the cymbal line, there will be cymbals available for use, but you are more than welcome to bring your own set. Potential members should also dress appropriate for the weather and also for a short movement related block with appropriate footwear.

Anyone can audition for our ensembles or attend our clinics, but Atlanta Quest follows WGI Percussion’s rules and guidelines for member registration. In order to march in either ensemble, you must be between the age of 14 and 22, as of April 1st, 2025. Members of the military that enlist at 18 may be eligible for a military exception. This affords you 1 year of eligibility immediately after completion of service.

Yes! Most of our membership is involved in college band, percussion ensemble or drum corps. We encourage participation in organizations such as DCI and DCA and encourage coordinating schedules to allow efficient participation. With very few exceptions, they are always able to manage the time commitment of both. Please make sure to communicate anything in advance that you feel may be problematic or conflicting.

Seasonally: Atlanta Quest’s season runs about 7 months long, start to finish. Auditions start in September and regular rehearsals begin in November, running through mid-to-late April. There are only 2 weekends off (for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays).
Week-to-week: Our rehearsal weekends are generally Friday nights from 7 to 11 p.m., Saturdays 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sundays 9 a.m. to 2/3p.m. (Note: Q2 rehearses most, but not all, Sundays.) The only time we’ll rehearse during the week will be during our Holiday December Camp and WGI Finals.
In addition to rehearsal weekends, members regularly participate in weekday video assignments and regimented practice on their own time.

As soon as you enter the individual room for auditions, bring the conflicts to our attention. We may be able to work out a schedule that works for both parties.

AQ and Q2 audition together but often rehearse separately in the metro-Atlanta area. AQ typically rehearses in Cobb, Cherokee, and Forsyth Counties while Q2 rehearses in Cobb, Bartow, and Forsyth Counties. Members often drive to and from rehearsals individually or in carpools, but almost always carpool during the weekend. Both ensembles have had members from Tennessee, Alabama, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Mississippi. We’ve even had some members from Texas and overseas.

Atlanta Quest has long been proud to offer a great experience at one of, if not the most affordable costs in the activity. However, due to inflation and rising costs across all facets of our operation, AQ and Q2 dues are $2000 for the 2025 season. These fees cover travel to out of town shows, logistics such as trailers, equipment, housing, insurance, arrangement costs, as well as props, uniforms, and floors. Dues are paid monthly (Oct to March) beginning with the first installment due immediately with the return of an offered contract.
We offer various fundraising opportunities and limited scholarships for those in need.

Atlanta Quest does not provide housing for its members. However, local Atlanta-based members always open their homes and provide housing for their out-of-state counterparts. If you are coming from out of town prior to auditions, merely post in the audition group https://www.facebook.com/groups/aq2025interest and let us know. Many members in the past have even moved to the metro-Atlanta area in order to march, live, work, and even attend school.
